Minutes of the meeting of Murton Parish Council held on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 at St James’s Church, Murton

25/40 Apologies for Absence were received from Ward Cllrs Warters and Rowley
25/41 There were no Declarations of Interest
25/42 The Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday, 9 April 2025 were confirmed as a true and correct record
25/43 Ongoing Issues and action 25.43.1 Neighbourhood Plan - The latest report was circulated confirming that the Plan will be sent to Referendum following a meeting of CYC Executive. Changes to the Plan will be made to conform with the Inspectors wishes
25.43.2 Police report for April - there were no incidents reported to 101
25.43.3 The clerk had ordered a new Murton Way sign for the stone on the village green
25.43.4 Following the wanton destruction of a holly tree on Murton Way the Clerk was to prepare a letter which the Chair would deliver to the alleged perpetrator
25.43.5 Cllr Richardson asked if CYC Highways could renew the hatched lines outside the exit to Inner Space Stations on Hull Road for safety reasons
25/44 There were no matters raised from Ward Councillors
25/45 Planning Matters:
25/45/1 - Net Zero Fourteen Limited had appealed against the refusal decision by CYC for their application for a Battery Energy Storage System on land to North West of Murton Way. A revised new application had been submitted, ref 25/00743/FULM, which was to be objected to in light of the Neighbourhood Plan
25/45/2 – Re: 25/00547/FUL – application for Battery Energy Storage System on agricultural land to North of Meadowville, off Hull Road. The clerk was asked to object to this application in view of the Neighbourhood Plan policy to maintain a green wedge between Murton and Osbaldwick
25/46 Planning Decision received re 25/00126/TCA approving tree works at the Villa
25/47 Financial Matters
25/27/1 – Invoice to pay £180.00 Stoneplan for removal and storage of salt bins. It was agreed to remove the bin from Red House corner on Moor Lane
25/27/2 – Invoice to pay £129.60 Aspects Horticultural Services for April grass cutting
25/48 The date of the next meeting was confirmed as Wednesday, 11 June 2025 at 7.00pm
